Freshwater Fishing License-Florida Newb

deflavedeflave Miramar, FloridaPosts: 12 Greenhorn
Apologies for such a rookie question but can I purchase a freshwater resident license without a Florida DL?  Or does this state require a state issued license?

Thank you in advance.

You must be able to prove your a resident to purchase any resident license

I understand.  Some states require an ID or DL number to purchase and I'm wondering if you can use things like your power bill or similar to prove residency.  I'm going to take a drive in a bit to find out.

You dont have to be a resident to get electric bill. Needs to be photo ID

If you do not have or want a Florida DL you can get a Florida ID from the DL bureau to prove residence.

    FROM http://http//myfwc.com/license/recreational/florida-residency/

For the purposes of hunting or fishing in Florida, a Resident is defined as:

    • Any person who has declared Florida as his or her only state of residence as evidenced by a valid Florida driver license or identification card with both a Florida address and a Florida residency verified by the Department of Highway Safety; or
    • Any member of the United States Armed Forces who is stationed in Florida (includes spouse and dependent children residing in the household).

    Acceptable Proofs of Florida Residency:

    Primary proof:

    • Florida Driver License or ID Card (with Florida residency verified by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles)
    • Florida Military Orders (members of the United States military and their immediate family stationed here)

Alternate proof (may be used only by Florida residents who do not have a Florida Driver License or ID Card):

    • Current Florida Voter Information Card
    • Declaration of Domicile (may be obtained from county clerk’s office)
    • Florida Homestead Exemption

Landlord Certification is no longer accepted as an alternate proof of residency.

For children under the age of 18, there are two additional options for proving residency.

    • Student ID Card (from a Florida school)
    • Parent's Proof of Residency (child must be accompanied by the parent at the time of purchase)
