Trail Cam Bobcat

I get quite a few bobcat photos, but haven't seen one with stripes before.  Have I just not seen enough bobcats, or is this really unusual?  SW Florida.

I've seen them with stripes before. I've also seen a black one. In fact Florida is the only place where black bobcats have been documented until one was recently trapped in Canada. I guess the habitat favors some special genetics here.

    That's a good looking bobcat.

I saw a black bobcat hunting MINWR for ducks - went to go find a cripple and there's this bobcat catching it himself - big black-colored bobcat.  That was neat.

Speaking of ducks, I was near a flood control structure one day here in S Fl when I heard a large splash behind me - turned around and saw a bobcat with a Mallard in his mouth climbing out of the canal.

I saw a black coyote once along I-10.

I have seen a few in Tosohatchee WMA that had stripes. Down here they can vary quite a lot  depending on there particular environment .
