I've seen them with stripes before. I've also seen a black one. In fact Florida is the only place where black bobcats have been documented until one was recently trapped in Canada. I guess the habitat favors some special genetics here.
I saw a black bobcat hunting MINWR for ducks - went to go find a cripple and there's this bobcat catching it himself - big black-colored bobcat. That was neat.
Speaking of ducks, I was near a flood control structure one day here in S Fl when I heard a large splash behind me - turned around and saw a bobcat with a Mallard in his mouth climbing out of the canal.
