Cleaning Air Conditioner Vents

Does it really make a difference? I'm getting "stuffy" with the A/C running night and day in this heat, so I assume it does help to get 'em cleaned!

Anybody recommend a good, honest outfit in the Tally area that will do an excellent job cleaning the vents at a fair price????

It can make a big difference if the deposits are impeding heat transfer.

Think he is talking about house vents and not the coil vents. Cleaning evaporator and condenser coils makes a big difference in cooling ability. Cleaning the condenser coil also helps with compressor life.

You may be right. I was talking about the evaporator and the condenser.

When you say “stuffy”, you mean your sinus or house feels stuffy?stuffy feeling house means means either dry bulb and wet bulb temps are higher than equipment design or your a/c needs servicing. Stuffy head is evaporator coil needs cleaning.also going from conditioned space to outside a lot will mess with your sinuses.

Just this morning, I took care of one of the rental AC units.

( because junior is too busy trying to pay off law school )

There's a huge Cottonwood tree two doors away.

Every year, without fail, the AC units are full of the stuff.

It's simple, if you can see the crap lodged in the vanes.

At a 45 degree angle down, I sprayed the hose from top to bottom.

It comes out easily & washes away.

What if you wrap chicken wire around the condenser?
i shop vac mine.
the dryer vent blows lint straight to it.

Yea Ande, not sure why the a/c condenser is put in where dryer vents out. You should see what happens at a prison when 3 14 inch vents blast in the area of a 200 ton air cooled chiller.
