Just read an article in the Water Line magazine about OK. Is the Lakeport launch suitable for launching a kayak? I have never been there and am not familiar with the layout. It appears the launch is a canal leading to the lake.  Is it a long haul to get to the lake and if so is the canal worth fishing? Thanks, Don

According to Google Earth there appears to be a beach 1/2 mile further S that you can launch a kayak from to get to the main lake.  It's on the road from Lakeport Plaza not the Lakeport launch.

Sometimes Google earth will miss a fence or a private property sign, so with that in mind, best to have a plan 2 launch area if the first one is discovered unavailable.

Looks like the Hoover Dike is the main launching point for that area. Guess I won't really know until I wander over there.
