Spend a few minutes this weekend thinking about laying in Hurtgen Forest as the Germans fired artillery shells at you for 3 solid days, and your 20 years old
Spend a few minutes thinking about laying in the Jungle watching your buddy's die all around you.
Spend a few minutes thinking about Suicide Bombers and roadside IED's that killed your friends and took off your legs at 19.
This is Their Weekend , It's not about your famous Burgers..

Sooo should everyone sit quietly all weekend in a 72hr moment of silence?  I dont think that is what my uncle in spent 2yrs in a Korean pow camp for.   He was always the first one on the grill and in the cooler grabbing a beer.   Same with my grandfather.  Seems like they celebrated their brothers rather than mourned them.  Im making ribs and not going to feel ashamed of trying to enjoy one of the few holidays im not stuck at work.

Rest in Peace brave soldiers,  my grill ran all weekend.

They lined the street with crosses with the names of the fallen heroes of the towns in Cross City and Steinhatchee, it choked me up.
