Hotspur Phin Report 4 29 2018
Took off with a stiff west wind behind us headed east for some phins. Forecast called for the wind to clock around out of the NE in the PM, so we headed east and north. Found a temp break with weed and bait and put them out. Scattered weed and sloppy seas made it a challenge to keep the baits clean but the guys stayed at it all day. Had a hero crash the port long rigger, miss the hooks and come back around for the way back. Mike saw his tail and commented that this is a big one! Wade saw his head and with wide eyes relayed the same. The boys let him eat and pinned him on. First of 6 phins to 40 Lb for the day, No big numbers but all quality fish. Weeds everywhere, fish spread out.
