PE 4/28 KING BONITO MAHI ROSEFISH GOLDEN TILE

Like always we hit the reef get 1 king and 2 bonito .The plan
was to deep drop and the crazy thing LMR tackle fish for the
day was golden tile can win 100.00.We get to our spot and
the bite was on 5 at a time on the rosefish. Were we are dropping
alot of weed and knew the Mahi would come to us.Well the plan
worked 5 different times they came to the boat got 5 in the box. With
a couple throw backs .Fish were finicky Rob got 1 casting a lure Bob
was getting them to eat bonito chunks.Should have caught 10 more.
Now its time to hit the tile spot.Again our plan worked Rob is hooked
up rod bouncing and Bob is on too BAM 2 GOLDEN TILE in the box.
2 weeks in a row the 59 line has been the area to be in.
PICS TO COME

    nice work Neil
We ran off hoping the report was right (when it was gonna lay down) and it want. Got beat up pretty good. Caught 1 fin then came back in and trolled around until it died down.
Then went back out to massive weeds at 17 off. Got 4 more and threw back a few and 1 trippletail

Way to go Neal! you've got the magic touch (and numbers :)  Nice to see a full fish box.

We caught a Kermit looking fish like that while deep dropping a couple years back. Uncle Buck here on the forum said it was a "Southern Hake" - It's a deep water fish (good eating) has a black membrane like the Rosies do on the inside.

    Pura Vida!

Hake,  They are a bit mushy but have a nice flavor. Best to ice them a day or two prior to cleaning. My favorite way to eat them is fried with a wet beer batter, British Fish and Chips style.

While drifting deep dropping we have Mahi swim up to the boat.
We always have a flat line out with ballyhoo and other rods ready
     to cast cut bait.

Great job.  That is an interesting rig, do you make it yourself?  What is that between the glow beads and the hook?
