Sounds like he worked hard and did the things that the colleges he applied and got into look for successfully.  With those skill sets and determination I am sure he will find success in whatever he pursues.

High achieving African Americans make many low achieving White Americans feel very afraid.  So much so they make it about race or even David Hogg rather than face the realization they pale in comparison.

Not generally.  Many low income whites resent programs that deem low income African Americans differently than low income white Americans.  The key being low income because if you are poor you feel just as "disadvantaged" as the next poor person.  When you stratify them the ones that get left out tend to resent.  Human nature to some extent.
