I think I see your point, correct me if I am wrong. The vast majority of those killings in the US are gang bangers, crooks, ****, etc. Not honest people. How many of those people were killed with a legal honest gun owner. I would say a fraction.
Although your point is well taken and true, there are honest gun owners in every country. The fact is that we have a gun violence issue in our country. Yes..mostly gang bangers, robberies, drugs, murders and in spite of what the NRA and GOP want you to believe after every mass shooting only 4% caused by individuals with mental illness. So the solution to the discrepancy in this chart is .....................maybe make sure that owners are legal and honest people only? How is this accomplished?

I guess growing up in the south with my dad and his dad and his dad and so on hunting since they were 8 years old and responsible I don't get it. Bad guys will always have guns, why hurt the honest guys. Hate to sound like a broken recod,, it is just common sense.

One solution is teach gun safety with real guns. Right now it a taboo topic, kids are being suspended for drawing guns, holding a stick like a gun and pointing a finger like a gun. All they are doing is making guns a forbidden fruit and the only training kids have is a shoot them up video game.

There are few things more awesome than watching indoctrinated children follow in their gun nut parent's footsteps.

Defenders of freedom.  Just ask them.

But which one to ask as they seem to be doing the same thing?

And yet some still wonder about the results, even suggesting those who disagree are out of their minds.  It's not like they're saying that guns outnumbering people in this country is still not enough guns.  Those guys must be nuts!

    Metaphorically speaking, of course.

Odd.  I've never been armed and I've never been a victim.
You've been lucky. Me, I've had a 38 revolver held point blank on the back of my head by a nice young black gentleman while another pillaged my pockets for whatever they could find. Now I carry a firearm for protection. I think of it like a spare tire and hope to never use it but will if needed.

    Good luck to you!
I bet a six pack if you were carrying when this happened you would be dead.

Have never understood why so many people go through their lives worrying about what other people's opinion of them might be.

I could  not care any less what someone in another country thinks about my right to bare arms or anything else.

Loved the comment on how the Japanese come here eat BBQ, shoot 22's and have the time of their lives which makes them envy our country.
At least they do not worry about walking anywhere at night, their kids are safe in school, they do not worry about
getting shot at the 7-11 or by the angry guy because he feels you cut him off at the corner............
Sweeping power to search and seize weapons....I am sure many readers hair stood on end....a tyrannical government, a dictatorship.......but it is not....and they happen to be one of the safest countries in the world.
In addition they search ands seize illegally obtained or possessed firearms.

The 16 or so countries that have better living conditions and quality of life than us. Higher percentage of educated people, healthier happier people, cleaner environment, less morally and ethically bankrupt politicians and populace, etc.

Well, I don't have time to go back and forth with you. I was taking a minute to eat lunch. I simply wanted to know what countries you thought were better and why with examples. And what of the other 180 or so countries? What do they have going for them. Should we join their communities? Really not trying to be a *&$#, I'm just curious why you think "murica" or whatever it is you call us is so backwards and uncivilized.

There might be a problem if even the US News & World Report doesn't list the USA in the top 7:

    https://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/overall-full-list

    1. Switzerland
    2. Canada
    3. Germany
    4. UK
    5. Japan
    6. Sweeden
    7. Australia
    8. United States

Here is the latest World Happiness Report from the UN:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Happiness_Report

    1. Finland
    2. Norway
    3. Denmark
    4. Iceland
    5. Switzerland
    6. Netherlands
    7. Canada
    8. New Zealand
    9. Sweeden
    10. Australia
    ...
    18. United States

Does that help answer your question?

I love this country and think it is great, BUT we have some serious problems with our quality of life that need addressing. We spend too much on the military. To the detriment of the working poor, health, infrastructure, infant mortality, etc.

As to join the Community. WE ARE LIVING IN A GLOBAL ECONOMIC REALITY. Ignore the rest of the world as trade partners and policing partners (NATO, UN) and America will decline. Example: trump taking out of the Asian trade community basically instills CHINA as the worlds new leader. And the huge market that is Africa knows this and will act accordingly.

Correct, it was severely damaged by FDR and the cascading effects of the entitlement society he crafted.

So they were being dishonest when they told us that.

The gentleman who moved to this state afterwards did so because he was committed to their deception?

Which 16 countries are they? Do they have as a diverse populous as the USA? Many of these countries are homogeneous societies with the same religion, language and culture. Apples and Oranges.

The Supreme Court's approval is required.....but go ahead and post another meaningless and incorrect meme if that makes you feel better.

I found the problem in my boat, the battery charger is dead.  It wasn't a wiring problem.  :(
The Supreme Court has already spoken, many many times on the subject.

I'm guessing you don't spend a lot of time socializing or doing business with Japanese if you have to ask that question.

Virtually without exception, they are exceedingly gracious in social situations, particularly when they are guests.  It's cultural.  You would likely have had a difficult time picking up if they were truly "having the time of their lives" or just being nice.

Moving there certainly does indicate some attraction, at least for that individual.   FYI, less than 10k of our roughly 1M legal immigrants per year are Japanese.

Japan has an odd attraction to all things American, but I wouldn't call it envy.

A closer look at those countries ranked higher on the lists I posted would suggest your assessment is incorrect.  In fact all of them have more, not less, entitlements that you seem to think are the downfall of our society.

Funny how, for instance, not having to worry about being bitten by a snake, having a heart attack, or contracting caner and going bankrupt as a result makes people happy and productive and their countries exceptional.
