Took advantage of light winds today

Well guys I have to tell you the fish are still chewing. They are crushing the Rapala Shadow Rap Shad in purple descent, both reds and trout. Landed 2 good reds, a 31" and a 38". I got to play with several more as well, but didn't get them boat side. I also lost a Jackall Bonnie on a biggun ( ouch that hurts), tried to horse him too much! I caught 21 trout too!

I went out on the fresh this a.m.  Reminded me of spring yak fishing in New England! I'm not used to the cold anymore!

John thanks. I want to learn how to snap pictures while holding the fish! The funny part about fishing yesterday was as soon as I launched the yak, the monsoon started blowing. So about the time I reached the good stretch of flats the wind was pretty crazy. So much so it almost flipped me over a couple of times. So I peddled to a little bayou to get out of the wind until it subsided some so I could head back to the ramp. It was in the bayou that I caught all the trout. Then when the wind subsided I headed out and just past the opening is where I hooked mr big and he head shook and snapped my leader and took my Bonnie! All in all still a fun day to be on the water!

I can't even fathom living up there period! Much less having to fish up there.

One way to take photos while holding the fish, is to have a camera mount on the forward end of your kayak.  In my case, I use large batteries on my gopro in loop mode video.  Loop mode saves space on the sd card.  When I hook a fish, I reset the camera to save the footage of the strike, and then continue to run another loop of video until the fish is landed.  Still clips of the video can be made into photos for computer viewing.  If it is an especially nice catch that I might want to print, I reset the camera for time laps photos ( every 1 second) at a higher resolution.  Regardless of what type of camera you have, make a camera mount on the forward end of your kayak, and turn the camera on in time lapse mode when you are ready to hold up your fish for photos.  Best photos of fish are usually within the first minutes of catching them, when they are typically the most lit-up in color.

I use a camera with a self timer.  It can be setup to take 3 pictures with a few seconds between each one.
