Clearwater charter question

BfiBfi Posts: 130 Deckhand
I have had several people tell me a good way to learn the area is to hire a local guide. My question is do they share locations with you or just techniques. I need to learn techniques as much as locations so that would be useful but wasn't sure as to what to expect

If your stupid question is "Is it okay to railroad my guides numbers?" No, no and no. Learning techniques and general knowledge, good stuff. Don't charter to poach numbers, just sayin'.

Ok thank you for the reply. I had just heard from a lot of people that hiring a local guide was a good way to learn the area and techniques so I wasn't sure what the expectations should be when doing so.

I heard about people bringing a gps and stealing #’s offshore. Definitely not cool. At. All.
however on an inshore charter it’s not like you’re gonna be blindfolded or nothing.

Yeah definitely not something I would ever do at all. I had just had people tell me a great way to learn the water was hire a local guide and so I wasn't sure if they actually took you to spots and showed you how and where or if was more techniques and bait to use.
