In search of new Cast Net

I need to pick up a 8' net for our trip in June.  Anyone have a brand they like that won't break the bank?

Like most things in life you get what you pay for.The cheaper bullseye nets don't open very well or last as long compared to the higher quality panel nets.Having said that if your throwing in questionable places it may be the way to go.For the type of fishing we do,for example,it could be argued it's the most important piece of gear on the boat.Of the panel nets my only experiences with Wade,Calusa,Black Peal, and Barracuda being about 50 bucks cheaper than the others with the same quality.If fishing in the  KeysI would go with 3/8 mesh with at least 1.6 pounds of lead per foot,in an 8 footer

If you are on a budget but want a decent net I would look at the Lee Fisher Bait Buster series. Not cheap but less and premium brands and still a good net. After using crappy nets and being frustrated for years I finally upgraded to a Calusa and a Tim Wade.

Unless you plan to stop fishing next year spend the money to get a good one. I have had several and my favorite is Tim wade. I have two from him, both 15 ft custom and about 8-9 years old. Love getting bait in one throw.

Tim Wade.  Great to deal with and cheaper than the top brands.  Tell him what you are looking to do with it and he will customize weight style, total weight, mesh size, etc. to fit your needs.  The nets are top notch too.
