    Until the park ranger catches you walking on the dunes.  They have them blocked off now or did the last time I was there.  They got signs up too.

    No problem at all if you cross the dunes on the designated pathways.

    They've been improved, with more hard surfaces for greated distance.

    ( That super-soft sand can stretch your legs in new & interesting ways. )

    There are 7 or 8 crosswalks between the park gate and the campground.

    Beyond that, the only water access is beach-walking the surf or the bay.

    ( Or via what passes for a "road", out to the lot near the point. )

     Plus walking across the Sandune sounded better than walking across the road

    especially if your pulling a fishing cart that don't have the buggy tires.

    We'll be on SGI that week as well and fishing the beach in front of a rental house east of the "downtown" area as well as the state park. 

    The park is very nice and may have some midweek sites available.
