Fort Island Trail area - from a 'yak?

Hey all,
I'm going to be fishing the Fort Island Trail Park area the first week of May. I have been down there once, didn't do very well (nor did I know what I was doing, at the time). Anyone have any tips/pointers as to what areas to maybe launch from or try out, for reds/trout etc?
Thanks,
sp00n-

Crystal Bay is southwest of the ramp at the end of the road. its a big grass flat with oyster bars running north and south. trout should be all around the flats and bars.

^^this^^ Launch at the end of the road and start fishing. Ozello ramp is another option..

Ditto to what the others said. There is good fishing right around the ramp at the end of the road.
