I'm pretty certain that the server detects if you are on a mobile phone/tablet, etc and serves up a mobile version of the site instead of the full version (as most websites do now). So, I think the answer to your question is no - you can't view the full site from your mobile device.
I've never accessed the site very often from my mobile phone but my initial impression is that the new mobile version is better than the old in many ways. It's certainly faster from my perspective.
But I will ask if it's doable nonetheless.
