Didn't I see somewhere that Florida was thinking of making the whole state eastern time?
And we will fight tooth and nail to prevent that stupidity!
The majority of our commerce runs north(Chicago)and west(Dallas Houston etc) and south.
If anything the rest of Florida should come into the central time zone , life is much happier and football games start at a much more civilized hour.

We should just give you all to Alabama already
No. We would much rather be our own state like it was going to be.
There is nothing about Alabama that we want to emulate.
I hope we don't adopt fake time for the whole year. That's just stupid. If we are going to pretend it's an hour earlier than it is, what else are we going to pretend? Fake time is fake time. If you want it to be light later, set your clock to whatever time you want it to be I guess.
No...
But at least pug can spell and punctuate. That's more than a lot of other members.

Is unthaw a word? I think you should go back and reread my reply to see what I was getting at.
I'm not that great at punctuation. I reread my post and put commas where there are pauses and periods where there are long pauses. But yeah, that's probably more than most other members.

I agree with you most of the time Pop but I do enjoy more light after work for outside activities.
You can set your clock for your time

At that time of the year it's going to be light out anyway. We're talking about sunset going from 8pm on standard time to 9pm DST by jumping forward an hour.
Is that hour of light between 8 and 9 really that important? I can't imagine a huge increase in productivity with that extra 60 minutes. It just means I have to wait longer to light my mortars off on the 4th of July.

What’s scary about the whole issue is that a lot of people actually believe that you increase the amount of daylight by moving the clock!!
Are those the same people that believe that if you put a deer crossing sign up they will cross there?

You can't cut the top off a blanket, sew it to the bottom and then say you've got a longer blanket. But this is exactly what people think.

It is all a man made measurement. One isn't any more "fake" than the other.
The only problem with DST year around would be sunrise won't happen until 8 am in the winter. Seems like the better option would be standard time year around.

Your right. Leave it on standard time and tell all those lazy bums to get up early instead of sleeping in till noon!

I know the deer can't read the signs unless you pivot them 90 degrees - silly rabbit.

Don't matter to me. It's always dark down here in the bilge.

It can be aggravating living in one time zone and close ( doing business with and traveling to) another.
Irregardless, the longer days tend to unthaw me.

UTC / GMT is the basis for local times worldwide
Other names: Universal Time Coordinated / Universal Coordinated Time
Successor to: Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
Military name: “Zulu” Military Time
Longitude: 0° (Prime Meridian)
At sea: Longitudes between 7.5° West and 7.5° East
That’s why I still use the 24 hour clock(military time) and sometimes Zulu just really confuse them.
At this time it’s 2324 Z FYI
