That’s making FS forum great again, admiral captain!
But the forum is incredibly fast paced now, huh? It’s hard to keep up with everyone clamoring to post things on here.
I bet there’s like, nearly 3 new posts a day now!

One of the first things I asked for. In fact, our analogies were almost identical. I think I said I felt like I was caught in a snow storm. lol
I have no ability to make any changes or the color scheme would have been tweaked on day one. All I can do is ask (and believe me, I've asked). Likewise, I've been asked to be patient as well so I am doing just that.
I will say that "they" ARE working it and have checked several items off of my personal wish list already. Hopefully, they will get to this one soon.

The more I use the new forum the better I like it. I think it's a lot better than the old one. The only thing I miss, the posts aren't numbered anymore.

YES, I posted this in another thread. For me, it provides a little more "situational awareness."
My only real issue so far is the right side list of forums. When someone has posted a comment with a large picture it goes under the forum bar. I tried to find a way to minimize the bar but could not. I was unable to read some of what the person posted. Really like the list of current topics versus just the top topic from each area.

I didn't like the column much at first either but I'm starting to get used to it. I've asked if we could either have a pop-up menu like we had before ("Quick Navigation") or perhaps at least add a button to expand/collapse sub-forums or even the entire bar. Another option I asked for was to list the forum links left to right separated by commas at the bottom of each thread. I know I habitually scroll to the bottom of a thread and that's where I'm looking for a quick way to jump to another forum. Having all the links listed left to right would compress that long column into just a few rows of links. I was initially told that there's no real option there but everything is so new, including lines of communication with the Vanilla folks, that I'm not sure that's a final answer.
I will say that I'm optimistic about other changes that have been made in the week since we made the switch. They do appear to be working on making improvements so, maybe we'll have something better in regards to navigation.
I'm still blown away at how much faster this forum loads than the old one. Night and day there...

It is fast Fletch. On my iPhone I can sweep back to the previous page and it updates quick.
It definitely has a bunch of pluses, I guess it’ll take a bit for people to feel comfortable with it. ( and me).
I have used markdown in my posts, completely by accident, Never heard of it before. Is there a FS Forum class on markdown forming soon?
I like that the number of new posts are displayed next to every topic. I don't really mind, or should I say notice, the right column. I don't expect any website to put anything important or useful there. If they do, it is poor design.

I can send you a CSS and you can attach it through the Chrome developer console. EZPZ.
This is the example of the menu covering the post. If post goes wide then the menu should go wider or auto reduce the post to the window width.
As noted above much faster at loading pages. Realize still work in progress. Being the platform it is on just about anything can be done with a little coding.

I don't see that but I have noticed something similar when I click the edit button next to my (or any member's) post. The menu is pushed off to the left of my screen and only a fraction of it is visible.
Can you list which browser and operating system you are using? Perhaps it is specific to your combo.

Be patient. Going to take time. We will get it tweaked.

My monitor has about 4" on each side not even used. I guess they have to keep it narrow for people that use their phone.

I wish there was an indicator that showed which thread I posted on.

Dave, I never used markdowns so I don’t really know what they are but I will add it to the list.

Personally I miss the new button. You could see all new post without going through every section.

The "Recent Posts" button (top right above column of forum links) should do the same thing or something similar. Have you tried it?

The latest improvements are helpful, but having the date a thread was started displayed would be very beneficial when viewing fishing reports
It's as if some of you completely bypass the internet to post here.
