Christmas in the Amazon

Ever since watching the show "Wild Kingdom" as a kid, have always wanted to see the Amazon. This year, finally made it happen. My girlfriend and I traveled to Agua Boa Lodge, a fly fishing only lodge on a small, clearwater tributary of the Amazon. Too make a long story short it was perfect trip. 7 full days of fishing. Fantastic action, if you wanted numbers, 100 fish days were no problems. Lots of quality fish, landed fish of 10 pounds or better every day except one, and plenty of diversity. I'm one of those nerdy guys that keeps a life list of species landed on a fly rod, added 13 this trip. Got home over three weeks ago, and still can't stop thinking about it, it was that great. Got to do plenty of sight casting to fish busting bait or just cruising sand flats, and even got to do some wading. Here's a few pics.

I thought so. But now I'm going back next year. That's the problem with trips of a lifetime. If they are as great as you hope, you can hardly wait to go back.
