Venice area advice

Fairly new to the area, but somewhat familiar with waterways etc.. I'm looking for a couple of inshore/bay sheltered spots where I could throw out a block of chum and keep 2 young grandkids happy catching small anythings. I do have a boat.

Try trolling the intercoastal just south of the Circus Bridge (by the airport). It's hit or miss but usually you can drag a few smaller snook out doing that.

Tarpon... everything else is just bait.

In the summer you can fish all along the intracoastal rocks and catch small mangos, lanes, sheepshead, and the occasional snook. Have never really tried in the winter. I would anchor up near one of the mangrove islands (not snake) just inside the inlet that has deep water and put out your block and drift live shrimp in the tide. I would expect much of the same species there.
