Thinking about heading out to cross bayou in bay pines in search of another winter time snook hole should I bother? Ive been abusing the snook in my normal holes with 40 plus snook in 2 hours for the last few weeks and want to switch it up. I think it looks great from google maps but i'm looking for anyone with experience fishing snook there to put in their 2cents.

This is incorrect. Fish are just fine. Nice and hungry go for it have a fun time plenty of fish to be caught. Bayou water temp is in the mid 60's and on the mud bottom it's hotter. No one who really knows how to fish the bayou will give you much insight especially not on the forums. My word to you is to explore.
Last week water temp off my dock was 56 degrees. I am on a known snook wintering creek in Pinellas Co. and have been since 1971. Granted there appeared to be no dead snook after the last cold snap. But to say that being within a few degrees of death does not cause stress is , at best, a bit off base.
Not sure what creek you are in but every canal I was in right after front was 61-63 degrees. Backwater bayou was same and even warmer on mud bottom. Fish were VERY active and eating, fighting, releasing without issue. I was out today in the backwater and caught no exaggeration at least 30-40 snook.
Yes - definitely some quality fish. I've seen more overslots this year than I have in the past 15+ years of fishing this area. A friend caught 6 fish all over 35" in one day last week.
Fortunately there is no way you could even check it all out in a weekend. It will take you a solid 1-2 years to hit all the areas on the different tides / seasons. Once you figure it out it's very rewarding but be prepared for a lot of skunks trying to figure stuff out.
