If the low temp is less than 50 degrees, no way!

Waiting for it to warm up a bit and the winds to lay down some.

Went this morning on foot around the Skyway area. Caught flounder, sheepshead and a few short mangrove snapper. There were some boats out there, crazy SOB's :willynilly

I had a tournament in Jacksonville one morning where it was 34 degrees at the boat ramp at 5:30 when I launched.

I was wearing full snowboard gear and was still absolutely miserable

Went again today in the same area. Caught a few "edible" size black drum, a small red, 1 small trout, 2 keeper sheepshead and a bunch of small mangrove snapper.

Use some chum and those Mangroves will fire up. If there are little ones there are keepers there also.

Yesterday a buddy and I hit the holes and oyster bars on the Alafia River - beautiful place... super fishy... anyhow, ended the day with about 20 trout, a half dozen reds, and some dink snook...

and I do mean dink... they were all about 8-12" long... bait of choice was a jig head with shrimp on the bottom...

I have to question the validity of this report considering you associate the Alafia with a "beautiful place".

    Kidding. Nice report.

A friend of mine killed it today in the bypass canal and Hillsborough River. Bass were hungry.

We were using size 4/0 1/8 oz jig heads with large live shrimp. These little snook were ferocious... and we were hoping that there would be a big one laying down in the mud... but wasn't happening... probably too cold and they shut down... may hit Double Branch tomorrow in my kayak...

This time of year the deeper holes of double branch will be carpeted in little 12" trout. Nothing big enough to keep, but great for keeping the kids amused. Just keep the hook barbs pinched down because the little ones are suicidal.

Did you get out to Double Branch? Been thinking about getting out on the yak, hoping the fish have moved in the creeks after the cold last week.
