Saturday 11/25 inshore with my kids

With beautiful weather on the forecast, and the day off from wk, I took my 2 eldest daughters out to bend some rods. we launched out of matlacha around 815 am. with a bunch of live shrimp, we headed north in search of some steady action (gotta keep a 6 and 8 year old busy to stay entertained).

the girls did great. our target species of the day was trout, using the good ol' popping cork method. both of them caught at Ieast a dozen trout a piece, along with karina getting a baby bonnet head shark, and a couple puffer fish. Lillie also had a couple puffers, and had the big trout of the day that went over 20". although we could have kept a good 7 or 8 trout if if we wanted, today was all catch and release. Teaching them to release today so that later we might catch them again.

They both had a great time today and I thoroughly enjoyed catering to them. hopefully we can get more days like these, as this is what life is about.
