Well with all this NE wind and cooling temps I figured I'd try out one of my wintertime tarpon spots to see if they were in there yet. Stiff NE wind blowing made it impossible to see if there were any brave rollers (they usually don't roll when the air/water temps are this cold anyway). Ended up jumping 3... two 40's and a 50 would be my best guess on them. Two shook the hook on the first jump and one shot directly under the boat and jumped up on the other side before I could react... he did it right square in the middle like he'd done it before...
Hogy 2oz paddle tails in black/purple with a slow retrieve were the go-to lure to get it down deep where they were sitting.
Hopefully we have a mild winter again so these resident tarpon stay a little active... time will tell.

Tarpon... everything else is just bait.
