Last minute decided to head down to Englewood for a week. This will be my first trip down in 20 years without a boat. Any ideas, suggestions of area to shore fish, or weather permitting wade fish? Thanks in advance. Jim
Hi Jim-
You can wade as much as you'd want to over by Indian Mound park, and also at Lemon Bay park.
Tom Adams bridge has a pier you can fish from.
Placida pier is only 10-15 minutes away if you'd like to try there.
Then of course there's the beach you can walk.
No problem. If you can get ahold of a kayak/canoe it will really open up a lot of fishing you wouldn't be able to do otherwise. That's how I started a long time ago.
You can also drive down to the south End of Gasparilla Island to fish the beaches around the state park.
(Boca Grande Pass)
As an afterthought, don't wade into the Pass, dangerous currents!
