Bimini Trolling time question

capt.gregcapt.greg Posts: 11 Greenhorn
I've been taking my family to Bimini with our boat for summer vacation for the last several years. My daily routine usually begins with trolling the stream for a few hours beginning at daybreak. I notice very few boats trolling at that hour, though when I'm snorkeling and bottom fishing throughout the day, I notice many more boats trolling.

What is the average time of day most folks begin their trolling out of Bimini-wondering if I should change my routine next trip over.

Thanks in advance!

I do not think most of those boat are trolling. They are deep dropping and you are seeing them moving from spot to spot.

Generally speaking the bite is best early and late ...sun up and sun set. Typically mid day with the sun overhead is the slow time. Of course many factors figure in to catching such as tide, current, water clarity , water temp, flotsam, schools of baitfish etc etc . One thing that can be helpful is to zig zag when you troll and try to cover different depths till you see where the fish may to be holding. One thing is for sure...don't trade early fishing time for high noon.

Thanks Jorge, that makes sense. Catchemup, that is exactly what I do, and I guess I won't be changing my routine at all next time I am there. Thanks both of you!
