Not at all. Nice to get closer on the base! What was the traffic like getting back?
What camera and glass are you using?
Next year at the beach they fly right over the boats so hoping the weather is better than the last two years to get some close ups like yours.
I was shooting a D7000 with a Nikkor 200-500 VR. It was too much glass at times for the conditions. I think a D7200 is in my future for the improved autofocus performance.
Getting in wasn't bad at all but it took us 50 minutes to get off of the property. Next time I go there I will plan to chill out for a while after rather than leave with the masses.

I just got the 7200 earlier this year as a retirement gift. I bought the 18-300. Most of my shots where at the extreme end as the planes were between a half mile and a mile away.
For example, this is the original of one of the shots above at 300mm before I cropped and sharpened. And reason why it is not the sharpest.

Number of pixels is another reason I am interested in a D7200.
