Tiny little guy. Picked up a wood planet and there he was. Stayed put long enough for me to run inside and grab camera. Im admittedly nobody's snake expert. Do know most of my common snakes wants to gets to be a little bit larger but not sure about this little dude.

No markings on head. Completely uniform in color. Picture is pretty representative of in person appearance. Relatively slender guy with gradual taper front and back.

Moving plotted plants in Orlando was not exactly how I envisioned spending my opening morning of archery, but such is life. Headed home early tomorrow morning and will squeeze in an afternoon hunt during 85 degree heat with threat of lighting and rain. Perfect!

Nice call Grizz. I've never even heard of one of those.

I've worked in the north Florida woods about 135 years now, and I've never seen--or heard--of these! Next time I talk with my friend Bruce Means, the Florida snake specialist, I'm going to ask him about this species!

That looks like him. Thought about taking him home, but didn't want to make sure pet out of an unknown species.

This ID tool takes me to different crown snakes.

Didn't know about this species. Learning everyday.

Isn't there a lighter in color band on the neck? Looks like a ring-necked snake but I could be wrong.
