Got out to the beach just after sunrise for some mullet run beach action. All week the surf has been pretty stirred up with boat loads of weeds floating around resulting in 90% of my casts catching sargassum clumps. This morning, probably because it was the last few hours of the outgoing tide, the weeds were absent and the water was much clearer. Between the first and second sets of waves were tons of finger mullet so it was game on!
Started out using a 1.5 ounce silver spoon. After a dozen or so casts, caught and released two small jacks. Switched to my go to yozuri shallow diving plug and started working north. Was able to catch a nice 28.5" snook. After a quick photo and resuscitation, released her for another day.

Many things to do.
Knots to be unraveled

Thanks! Some 3-5 foot sharks crashing the mullet schools as well. Didn't happen yesterday but I've had one of these sharks hit my spoon literally within a poles length from me
Thanks! I've only caught a handful from the beach but they're definitely worth the extra time and effort to catch
You will now be entered in our forum giveaway! The results of the contest will be posted early next week. Good luck!
