A black cadet wrote the racist graffiti found at Air Force Academy
(CNN)In late September, after racist slurs were found on the message boards of five black cadet candidates at the Air Force Academy Preparatory School, the school's superintendent was angry.
Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria told cadets to line up and pull out their phones to remember his message, and he forcefully denounced racism and intolerance.
"If you're outraged by those words, then you're in the right place. That kind of behavior has no place at the Prep School," Silveria said.
The speech was posted on Air Force Academy's Facebook page and quickly went viral. The Air Force launched an internal investigation to find the culprit.
But on Tuesday, Air Force Academy officials said that one of the black cadet candidates actually wrote the racist messages.
"We can confirm that one of the cadet candidates who was allegedly targeted by racist remarks written outside their dorm room was actually responsible for the act," the Academy said in a written statement. "The individual admitted responsibility and this was validated by the investigation."
The vandalism was written in black marker and said "Go home" with the N-word, according to CNN affiliate KRDO.
Lt. Col. Allen Herritage, director of public affairs with the Academy, said that the cadet responsible admitted his guilt when confronted. The individual has "received administrative punishment" and is no longer at the preparatory school, Herritage said.

Date Your Own Kind.' Man Put Racist Graffiti On His Own Car, Police Say
Photographs posted on social media Wednesday showed the car covered with racial slurs against blacks and messages that included “Go Home,” ”Date your own kind,” and “Die.”
The vehicle, covered in graffiti scrawled with washable paint, was parked Wednesday at an apartment complex near Kansas State University and the incident fueled racial tensions at the university and in the community.
An emergency meeting of the Black Student Union called that evening drew concerned administrators and community leaders as well as students. Kansas State held a Facebook Live event the next day with worried parents. The university stepped up patrols on campus. The FBI opened a civil rights investigation into a possible hate crime.
But on Monday the Riley County Police Department issued a news release saying the 21-year-old owner of the vehicle, Dauntarius Williams, had told investigators that he was responsible for the graffiti.

The entire speech supposes there are more racists than minority liars in the academy. If he had reviewed other similar instances, he might have waited for the investigation before making his diversity speech based on a hate hoax.

Yep! Apparently you've had the displeasure as I have to be punished with KP. No gringos like me as a cook. Every one of those cooks were much more racist than any person I've ever been around. Not one was Caucasian.
I don't know where this ^ came from, but I'll go with it.
Being a chow hound, I used to volunteer for KP due to the leftover food on the trays/in the insulated meal containers. I was once ordered by our commander to not eat out of the trash cans.
The cooks in my line unit were some of the finest and hardest working soldiers I've met. They were tasked with feeding ~140 soldiers in less than ideal conditions (when we weren't on MREs). Due to cleaning their equipment to SFC Menginghall's uncompromising standards, after long field problems they were always last to turn in their weapons. Being the armorer, I never required them to clean them (I cleaned them myself) = extra helpings on my tray/mess kit every time.
Probably the best Thanksgiving meal that I can remember was prepared by them in a field unit kitchen somewhere in the ad-Dahna Desert. Talk about a morale booster...

Where in his speech did he accuse anyone? Didn't hear it. Maybe you haven't served in his military. I have and have been in the same room as him numerous times. Personal accountability, intergrity, policing yourselves, etc. That's what his message is. Seen it a hundred times from a senior leader. Read between the lines/message. Racism will not be tolerated. Period. Dot. Lots of different races in the room, huh. He didn't get to a 3-star by not doing his homework and know what's going on. The speech was to the entire cadre. Hence, "take out your cell phones, etc..."
I don't believe I discuss racism much on here. Or ever get involved in the many repetitive threads on it.
I posted this because I thought it was an excellent, well delivered speech, and still do.
