What is the easiest / Best way to copy your pictures from Phone to Computer ?

HeatwaveHeatwave Posts: 1,997 Captain
Have a samsung S5... Use google drive, but of course once on my computer I can't take them out of the drive without adding more google apps... Nothing FREE is easy....
Remember the good ole days when computing was easy ?
I guess microsoft, goog, and others are not making enough money..

This site is one of the last places I visit that is not bombarding me with ADS... ESPN is crazy and so are many other pages...

I remember on this site back in 05 / 06 and we all hated the NEW Pop Up ads... Then added a pop up blocker, which soon became customary in the software... 10 years later and now you don't have a choice. Who saw that coming ?

I just connect my BLU phone's USB charge cord to the computer's USB port and the phone folders show up in File Manager.

Maybe if we tell people that the brain is an App, they will start using it.

Are you connecting to a Tandy 486 computer?

Just remember because of Google, Microsoft and others you can actually have this issue...which appears to be a user issue.

It's pretty easy on my iPhone and Mac. Just plug it in and it syncs.

Google drive is cloud storage, it is no longer on your phone. Move them from google drive to a file on your folder and then plug the phone in to a PC and you can transfer them. I think you can also download google drive to your computer and get them from the cloud that way. I don't like google drive but my phone backs up photos to it automatically.

If you connect your phone to the computer and open explorer yiu will see a drive associated with your phone. There will be folders and one or more will contain all of your photos. Copy and paste.

Wish I would have said that...

I don't get it. If they are copied to Google drive you can select them all and download them to your computer. You should also be syncing all the photos via Google Photos app, if you have it installed. If not, install it, it's free. There too you can go to Google photos online and download to your computer.

Another thought is to install a SD card. Change your settings to put all photos on the SD card (if possible) and then use a USB card reader (~$10) to put them on your computer.

I got tired of all that **** and went with Drop box...Every device i have..including computers/phones/tablets/tv...all have access to upload and download view pictures from any device. Its easy to set up and it dosent matter if you have a mix of android/windows/mac/apple devices. Plenty of options to select groups of pictures and manipulate where they are or what you want to do with them as well. Yes it costs money..but its a small price to make sure every picture you want to save..is already saved instantly.

Took a picture of a Huge (to me) 10pt with my phone while scouting preseason and hours later dropped said phone in water and never found it...Picture was already on Drop box and I could still show my buddies the deer i would never see again LOL.

Most phones don't have external SD slots. Someone who can't get photos to his computer shouldn't be opening up his phone their phone and handling SD cards. Just saying.
