We loaded up with pinfish, greenies and shrimp and went out to try our luck on an "M" reef around 45 foot for mangroves.
It was red hot for ten mins then slowed down. Eventually got the mangroves to the surface and watched a couple fat ones eat a chunk of cuda with the chum line. Ended with 17 mangos and pushed out to 55 foot on some hard bottom to try and pick off a red grouper or two. Put 5 keepers in the boat in about an hour. The wind slowed and was opposite the current. we were able to almost sit still. Instead of setting up a drift over various marks we just hovered right over them. They were eating bucktails tipped with Cuda strips, and live grunts.
We headed in around 2pm and spotted something in 35 FOW. Pull up, its a pallet with PVC and loaded with triple tail. Pitched a live pin and the largest triple tail inhaled it. We caught one other keeper and let it live with about 15 other small ones. Then 2 mahi are swimming around it, one was a nice fish morderline gaffer. Both ate a jig and spit it and were not to be seen again. Would have loved to find that debris in the Keys or our deeper!
Having trouble uploading pictures...Tried from computer and from Photobucket

Thanks, I have seen little chicken dolphin in 50 foot or so, but not nice seized ones like these.. We knew there would be triple tail on the pallet, the big one around ten pounds was a bonus
