Nice Mango and dolphin 09/04/17

Fished offshore today for memorial day. Flat calm all day with no storms. Quick ride out to 130'. Stopped at the pipes wreck to see if any cobia hanging around. Cudas were reel bad and attacked any live bait. Butterflied a grunt and sent it down, had a hit right away and caught this beautiful 13 pound mangrove snapper.
No other hits besides the one snapper and a couple of AJ's and almaco jacks. Moved out to some broken bottom a couple of miles away. After a few triggers a school of 8 mahi swim by the boat. We were ready for them and was able to catch 6 of the 8 before the last 2 got lock jaw. Caught some more triggers then decided to try another wreck for cobia. Caught and released a couple of big red snapper, then reeled up a grunt ten turns to get it off the bottom and was rewarded with a keeper cobia. Great day on the water with a nice mixed bag in the box. Flat calm on the way back again making 30knts. Lots of boats fishing offshore today.
