Help needed

Coming over to Steinahatchee from Jacksonville for the weekend of the 26th. I'd really appreciate any tips or suggestions on where to start looking for scallops once we clear the channel. Been a few years since we've done it and wanted to take my son for the first time.
Also, how's the trout bite? Any help there would be great also.

Pretty easy - just make it to channel marker 7 , hang right and follow the coastline parallel N-NW and you will see the boats. That's a good place to start. Anywhere due west of Dallus Creek to Big Grassy Island should be good places to look.

Imo the scallops around big grass and dallus are pretty thin this year. I've heard south of steinhatchee is better.

Thanks for the info. We had a great weekend. Saturday was a bit slow. Took us about 4 hours to get the limit. Went a little further north on Sunday and found our limit within an hour. They were everywhere.
Got skunked fishing though. But still had a great time.
