Home Ten Thousand Islands General Fishing & The Outdoors

Sunday @ the Pass And a 1st

Launched Sunday @ 6:50, water temp a balmy 86.3
Incoming tide all morning.
Started with a magnum Pop-R at a little mangrove island.
First cast, 16" trout in the box:)
Continued on and had a few blow-ups, no hook sets.
Off to SE Cape Romano.
With a white Spro, girlfriend catches 2 small jacks.
And now the 1st.......
Throwing the Pop-R, fish on!
Being the piscatorial expert I am, I tell her: Jack Crevalle.
Fish comes to the boat.....12" mangrove snapper!
My first mango on a topwater.
Proud of the fish, embarrassed for wrong ID.
It goes on ice.
Into the Morgan River.
Lots of catfish on the Spro and shrimp cork combo.
1 ladyfish.
Tied on a different jig, tipped w/ shrimp and got a 17" trout.
Off to a cut with good current and managed a 15" mackerel.
Tried a few more places and it got warm.
To the ramp @ 11 and cleaning 3 fish.
Not a hateful day, but did enjoy the mango on top.
Might be out next weekend (hopefully).
See you on the water!!
