Just completed our first mini season, snorkeling in less than 8 ft. water near Tavenier. Unlike all the "quick limit" reports from Big Pine area, we only got 6 keeper size. Talking to others, about the same report. 85% or more were undersized, and numbers did not seem great. Didn't hear of any limits in the shallows. Is the Big Pine area that much better, or did we just really stink at it? Anyone do well (in less than 8 feet) in the Tavenier/Upper Matecumbe area?

That's a lot of people on one boat.
Yes. It was much easier for me and my buddy to get our limit of 12 per day with only the 2 of us to worry about.:wink
