New bait caster setup

I'm looking at getting a new baitcasting setup. Just a good all around rod for most types of fishing. There's so many nice ones out there just a little help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I like Lew's but I sometimes wonder how much cranking power it has when your bringing a bass in. They seem to spin some. As far as casting, weight and functionality i really like them.

daiwa tatula ct. i've bought lews in the past they don't hold up like shimano and daiwa. check ebay "buy it now" you can find the tatula ct for under $100. st.croix bass-x is a decent rod for $100 , so is a dobyns fury.

Depends on what you are looking to spend. For a reel my favorite is my curado 70, I also use a tatula 100hs that has worked flawless. Tatula is on a abu garcia vendetta 7 mh/f, great all around spec. I got the rod for 80 bucks at bass pro while I was waiting for my falcons to show up. I can tell you that out of all the fishing gear I have bought in my life the vendetta rod has been the best "bang for the buck" for me. Hands down the best sub 100 rod, works like it costs twice as much and I actually like it better than some of my rods that do cost twice as much. Just my .2 cents.

I have to agree with Tesla, I have two Vendetta's, and know few folks that have them to they are a great rod.

As far as reels go I prefer anything Lews or Abu Garcia. For rods I like Duckett, and even though there are mixed reviews I have a few Veritos rods which I like. I figure out which exact reel and/or rod I want based on tactic and how much I want to spend. Made these choices after much trial and error!

I love the Lew's tournament MB speed spool paired with a Lew's custom speed stick or BPS Jonny Morris Signature series rod. That's what I use most times for fresh water! If you want to see it in action here's a link to my YouTube channel. http://youtube.com/c/bitethebaitfishing305

It all comes down to budget really. If you are looking at great quality for the price check out 13 Fishing's new Fate Black rod - $100 (icast winner) and the Inception reel - $120.
If not so tight on the budget then look into the Shimano Curado K series - $180 with a Zodias - $190 or newer Curado rod to match.
Either way, you won't be disappointed.
