Did some fishing yesterday. About to grab a bite to eat and then go check trail cams. I'll add those to this thread in order to make it somewhat hunting related. Anyway...

Another nice little trip. Took a buddy's boat yesterday to an area none of us are particularly familiar with. Basically 240 out of Panama City around 30nm. Bottom fishing was pretty good, but not great. I think we fished 6 or 7 spots, and found 3 or 4 more. Largest snapper and red grouper came off a known spot. That was actually our first dip and my wife boated the biggest snapper and the red grouper there. The four scamp came off a found spot. Then we just picked around for the rest of the snapper.

Were fishing up to 250' which meant quite a bit of cranking. Was fishing 6-10oz leads (depending on size of tackle) and 40-80# gear.

Pulled lures for maybe an hour total, but no takers. That's third trip in a row I've come home with no wahoo. Starting to get a little irritated about that.

Live bait seemed to be the ticket. We got a couple snapper on cut bait, but the rest of the fish came on live ones. Moved around quite a bit so no real flat line opportunity.

Oh, and I looks like somebody with a brand new toy had a rough Friday night. Pretty sure thing still had mold wax on it. Yikes. Fortunately Regulatory makes a tough boat... a good thing for this fella. Talk about embarrassing. I bet 500 boats passed him yesterday morning with cameras out. He's about to be famous!
