South Florida Snook Fishing: New Years Day 01/01/2017

I was feeling a little under the weather, but I haven't fished out of my Oldtown Predator PDL in a while. I also got some new LiveTarget Swim baits. The sardine and the mullet! I texted a local guy and asked him if he knew a place I can fish that I nevered fished before. He was kind enough to pin me a few places. I got there and the weather was awesome.

I took out my drone and DSLR camera to get some B Roll. I got in my kayak and pedaled to a seawall and cast. I hooked a small jack and pulled the hook. After about 4 hours and 8 miles I was getting a little frustrated, but I didn't give up. I ended up in a place I went to with a friend and saw a lot of docks.

At this time the wind has picked up from 12mph to about 20mph with 25mph gusts. Fourtunately I was in a area I can hide from the wind. I stand up and casted my 3.5" sardine right under a dock. Are the first turn I see an explosion and my line starts to peel off my reel. I was absolutely excited. I ended up landed 2 snook that day after 5 hours of nothing.

I never gave up and I'm still on cloud nine that I caught these fish on the 1st day of 2017. My year started off with a bang! Tight lines!
