Is this question related to the email I received from Photobucket this week? I don't plan on upgrading just so I can post from Photobucket to 3rd party sites as I very seldom have the need to do that. Any other opinions?

*What is 3rd Party Hosting?
Photobucket defines 3rd party hosting as the action of embedding an image or photo onto another website. For example, using the <img> tag to embed or display a JPEG image from your Photobucket account on another website such as a forum, Etsy, eBay auction listings, a blog, etc. is definitively 3rd party hosting.
Why Photobucket?
Photobucket is the global destination for linking and 3rd party hosting. In Photobucket’s 14-year history, the Company amassed over 100 million registered users, over 15 billion images stored, 2 million daily uploads and 10 billion photos accessed monthly.
Easy to Use – Upload a photo from any device and copy the embed code with one click to host a photo with no development or technical knowledge required
Competitive, fixed pricing Offers the only unlimited 3rd party hosting plan (Commercial and Personal Use)
Are my pictures still safe?
Yes! All your photos are still available by logging into your Photobucket Account. Photobucket has only restricted the ability to view your photos on 3rd party sites.
Can I download my Photos?
Absolutely, at any time. It is an easy four step process:
Step 1. Login to your Photobucket Account
Step 2. Navigate to your library page
Step 3. View a photo and click the download button
Step 4. The picture will be saved to your computer

i have seen a lot of people complaining about Photobucket's new policy. seems expensive & short sighted. for here i just downsize them to a manageable size & upload them directly. i know others here link to their Flickr site but i haven't been able to figure that out yet.........

the only reason i ever got a PB account was for 3r party hosting....
they can go f**k themselves if this how they want to play....
i'll go to my account and flush all the images, i have all the originals anyway...that way i won't see any of my images show up somewhere where they aren't supposed to be...

Flickr is easy. It also has settings where it is public to view and download images in the gallery you are viewing, or just public to view, no ability for others to download your images. It has a TB of free storage. Try it.

You should look at what a hosting company charges for hosting your own Domain.
InMotion is under 10 bucks a month for unlimited data.
Grab a domain and load WordPress and have some fun managing your own site - even if just simple photo galleries.
You can probably find a host for cheaper and don't even need a website or domain. If you have a host it will come with an IP address. Just upload your pictures at the root level. Your links to images will look like this.
