:fishing Sounds like a trip of a life time. Hope to see plenty of pictures.

Please set me straight if I am wrong on a couple of things.

Fishing for TROPHY sized Mutton, Red and Yellowtail Snapper

    (1) Red snapper season for head boats:
"The Departments rule does not change the quota or season length for the federally permitted for-hire component of the recreational fishery"

As far as I know 7/19 still ends American red snapper dates for federally permitted head boats.

Pully Ridge: Would love to fish the Ridge, however, it's my understanding that Pully Ridge is well over 200 miles from Clearwater, Florida, and well worth the trip!

Regardless, this sounds like a trip never to be forgotten; a real 'trip of a life time!'
Billy, thank you so much for putting this DREAM TRIP together.

Red Snapper will be off limits to harvest... but who harvests tarpon, sharks or Goliaths?

As far as the miles, guess it depends on top, middle or bottom of the rectangle... I rode the ole Ranger V south with Capt. Matt when I was 16 back in 1990 and fished that far south but not that deep...

What's Capt. Matt doing these days?

:fishing Sounds like the trip of a life time. Feel sure those 11 spots will fill quickly. Would really like to see plenty of pictures & a full report.
Capt. Matt: 'Mr. Middle Grounds' came up with lung cancer a couple of years ago. As far as I know he is still around. One of the very best Captains I have ever had the pleasure of sailing with.

Billy, Wow I fished most of those trips back with Matt. He is one of the best offshore guys there is. Did you do the trip when we docked at the Fort?

And don't let Bob derail your tread again. Just ignore him.

NO "derail !" Nothing but praise for what sounds like a wonderful trip. Don't try to start something where there is nothing to start!

I did not do the Fort trip... but I caught a crap load of fish on the south trip... remember their jackpot on that boat? And if you hit the hat trick (grouper, snapper & AJ) you would win a large amount that kept rolling over from trip to trip until someone hit it... well I hit the grouper and AJ and lost out by a hair on the snapper with a 20+lb mutton... I literally put a banana peel on my fish on the teeter scale and it went my way... THAT CLOSE!!!

I also caught a massive 30+lb African Pompano... filled my parents freezer!!!

Captain Matt: Spent the weekend on the Florida Fisherman ll. Both Will & Tammy know Captain Matt well. Both said he is doing OK!. In fact, he was planning on fishing with us a couple of weeks ago; his trip was canceled due to bad weather.
Great man & one of the best Captains I have ever known.
Congratulations on the AP. That was a BIG boy.
