going out tomorrow or the weeked..any hotspots. gonna try ot hit the bait barge and work the canals and mangroves. sunken barge area and the flounder pass mangroves a and that area islands. last resort will be the bridges
hhaa..I fish for anything I can catch. my son jumped a 3 ft tarpon there a few weeks ago...
ill have shrimp or whitebait from the bait barge if hes there..otherwise shrimp and atificials. guls and all kinds of rubber stuff. topwaters rattletraps etc
The bridges seem to be holding a variety of different fish right now but for edibles (in season species) I would target the bulkhead flats just outside of the mouth of the river. Trout, flounder and Spanish macks should be a good bet.
zero luck on the flats.....had awesome greenies form the bait guy. overflowed my well for 25 bucks..awesome. worked int o the bay at emerson point..the barge and the seawall....flounder pass was all grass and low tide...hard in there..
went to some deep mangroves on a canal I always catch fish and did again..cpl jack..small snook..5/4 catfish....all under the mangroves...didn't have any luck at the bridges but I trolled em instead of anchoring up. spent about 6-7 hrs on the water so catching fish was just a bonus. had a few huge hookups that broke the line twice and one I fought for a few minutes til it spit the hook
