Back Country Reds and Snook 6/5

It's been awhile since I put up a post, things get in the way, managed though to slip out with Captain Duane Baker (Windsplitter) for our usually weekly trip.

Weather forecast was iffy but it stayed cool and light rain for most of the trip. It wasn't raining hard enough to really need a rain jacket but enough you were always damp.

Fish were cooperative, took all of them on artificial as usual, with soft jerk baits and the Redfsih Magic being the lures of choice. Water was stained some, fish were extremely aggressive when hooked, and many just either got off or didn't get hooked after hitting the lure hard. We put 12 reds in the boat and 6 snook were brought to the boat.

A nice easy cool day in the backwaters with Duane, as always, and we encountered no boats as usual. Couple pictures of the biggest ones, my snook was 31 pus and Duane's red was 26.5 (perfect tourney fish). I'm in the STAR tournament so I submitted my fish using their official measurement device.
