1st Place Dolphin Tournament

Got to the boat at 6am and had line so in at 630am-645am. We trolled the drop off and right of the bat hooked up to two dolphin. One came unglued :banghead but the other hit the ice. While fighting those two we threw a livey out hoping for the school to come with them and we hooked up to a 7lb black fin. He hit the ice too. We thought this was going to be a great day considering the way we started. Trolled a little longer with no bits. We picked up and headed southeast. Ran for about and hour with nothing in sight. Found some good scattered weed at about 800. Trolled for an hour with nothing. Picked up again and headed east-northeast. Found some scattered weed at around 2300. Droped the lines and started trolling again. It was 11am and we were feeling hopeless at the time when all of the sudden we get a good bite. I looked back and the fin took flight and I knew it was a big fish :crossed. Fought the cow for about 20 minutes and she got the gaff and when it hit the deck we went crazy :grin. We knew we had a good chance of winning the tournament with this 28lb cow and we did ended up bringing home the money and the trophy. Beat the second place dolphin by 10lbs. Never thought this would ever happen to us but it did. This is something none of us will ever forget that's for sure.
