Left my dock in CR at a leisurely 6:20 this am with Capt Robbie in my skiff and went out to an absolutely beautiful morning. Expectations were somewhat optimistic, even though it was a FULL MOON, and the water was more cloudy than we expected probably due to the recent windy conditions. We jumped around and could not fish the one place we were looking forward to since a boat was there, but we tried some new areas and were spectacularly rewarded on an epic day. We only use artificial hard baits, often topwater. Robbie missed possibly the biggest fish of the day when it came unbuttoned after a long battle, but we caught some big fat fish, all well over slot. Jacks, ladies and trout were all bi-catch and I kept a few trout. What a blessing to be able to go out on a beautiful day and have such an experience with a good friend and fishing mentor.
