Florida insider report, Flats Class, Addictive Fishing and other sports are not on ESPN. So I don't watch it.

So youre saying instead of actually fishing, you just watch fishing?

Dying brand. Especially as political as they've gotten in the past few years.

Good riddance. Hopefully I never hear Chris Berman's obnoxious voice again.

    Yep, it's a lot cheaper.:wink

I think Berman's out because he likes to grab pu*** and other sex scandals just like Mike Terico

I was reading that Mike and Mike are splitting up. How many times can 2 guys say "your listening Mike and Mike" in and hour and,who really cares what someone said on Twitter.

ESPN fired those guys because they are conservative. ESPN is just a bunch of snowflake justice warriors, only watch sports on that channel if no other choice.

edit Ed Werder is gone also Business is cruel they played up Eds families battle with cancer and then showed him the door ....

I agree on the political agenda. I like some of the 30 for 30 stories and other stuff but they focused too much on the individuals versus the sports and the experts that know sports.

I do agree on that, it's all about the struggle. some stories i do like to sit and watch, liked the Mike Ditka story. But some are just self indulgent crap trying to tug at your heartstrings because someone made millions of dollars and made poor life choices after that.

Because they are conservatives? You have zero idea of what you're actually talking about. Will Cain is a super conservative white guy that is in the First Take and ESPN Radio rotation and he didn't get fired, and if your accusation was factual he would have been the first to go.

The only show I seek out to watch/listen to was the Russillo & Kanell show (formerly SVP & Russillo) and apparently that's gone. that was the only show that dug into stories and didn't spend half its show race baiting or talking about Lavar Ball and irrelevant garbage like that.

    This.

    F espn RITP!!

    You pointed out one guy.
The list on the other side is long and growing.
Bomoney Jones, SA Smith, Jamel Hill, Micheal Smith at extremely vocal apologists with an agenda. **** and stick to sports.
Russilo's Kannels show was rapidly growing in popularity after the transition from
    SVT and Russillo.
Stephen A gets paid 4mill a year to shout over people.

PTI and Gameday (only on in the Fall) are the only good shows left.

ESPN now covers the WWE! Faceinpalm. Can't get much lower than that.

Espn "gay days" are right around the corner.

I have grown up watching and loving ESPN.
    No more.

Russillo will be back in his slot Monday at 1 and will be addressing it all.
Would be good if they brought SVP back from the Midnight or later SC that no one on the East coast watches.

I really like Russilo and Kannel, a lot. Not too worried about Danny, hot wife, great kids and a lot of bank. Someone will pick him up

ESPN got rid of senior (and expensive) on-air talent.

It's nothing more nefarious than corporate cost cutting.

these firing were not caused by politics, to think that is dumb. Cowherd is a bleeding heart liberal they let go and he went to FOX, are you kidding me? ESPN doesn't give two S's about the hosts preferences. You have some that swing one way and others that swing differently, there is nothing more to it, and frankly its sad some of you guys use the politics as a crutch for everything in life.

Secondly if you've replied to this claiming its politics and spelled the names of Ryen Russillo, and Danny Kanell any differently than how I just did perhaps you shouldn't be commenting.

Sad part is its not going to solve their problems either. Deadspin put out an article outlining the reasons their losing money and it doesn't have much to do with employee salary.

Nobody knows for sure why they fired the people they did, but it stands to reason ESPN has been going hard to the left for years mixing sports and politics and losing viewers fast. It's now MSNBC,ESPN ****'s social justice warriors.

BTW Cowherd, was leaving for FOX anyways in a few days, were you spinning his supposed abrupt firing or did you not have a clue about that part. He made some stupid comments about Dominican baseball players and the snowflakes at ESPN fired him supposedly. Cowherd said it was amicable. I wouldn't know if Cowherd is a "bleeding heart" I'll leave that to you.

2014 ESPN signed a contract with the NBA for $24 billion.

NOBODY KNOWS FOR SURE, nice back pedaling. Espn isn't losing viewers because of politics, delete that from your brain because its nonsense. You are a minority of people that tries to find politics at the root of everything, and that's really sad. ESPN is going broke because of the way cable is changing, and cord cutting. If you believe anything other than that (the facts) youre lying to yourself to justify an invisible political agenda.

I turned ESPN on last night during the draft for 2 minutes, and turned it right back to NFLN. It's not even close

Back pedaling lol stop it, you are getting your panties all waded up, its just an opinion on a fishing forum. I appreciate your attempt at on line analysis of how I think, but really you are the one projecting here about politics.

Do you know me, perhaps had a previous screen name here ?

BTW I disagree people don't want the politics in sports
  • mplspugmplspug Posts: 16,014 AG
Its definitely because of their injection of politics into sport. No question about it.

How is it not back pedaling? You made an incorrect statement and then back pedaled on it when you were proved wrong hahaha

There is it is. The loser limp when you know you have no clue of what you're talking about, and have been embarrassingly proved wrong on "the fishing forum". Now its me "having my panties in a wad" hahah okay guy, all it takes is 2 minutes of google machining 'why espn is firing people'. You're "opinion" isn't factual, I decided to point that out for you snow flake.
  • TampaTarpon5TampaTarpon5 Posts: 803 Officer
There actually is a question about it. YOU may not watch for that reason but their viewership is not the issue, again the google machine would help educate people on the reason.

I actually watched 15 minutes of Mike and Mike and didn't want to turn it off this morning.

Oh okay..... hahaha nonsensical, fact less opinions are more important than actual data reported by sports media outlets, but we'll play the "if its on the internet its true" sarcastic statement, gotcha.

Have you people thinking it was politically motivated considered the thought behind firing all the "conservative" hosts and how that would help their rating if in fact they were losing viewers due to being "too liberal"? You basically are saying theyre just going to run the company into the ground to prove a leftist political agenda?

    You people are unbelievable hahahaha
  • mplspugmplspug Posts: 16,014 AG
Despite it's agenda. Liberals are good at running things into the ground to spite themselves.

I dont watch much TV or ESPN anymore, but when I do, I get tired of all the SVP hype. I really dont like him. Or that whiney Jemel Hill.

I do like Steven A, and really like LeBetard's show with his Papi.
