ESPN FIRINGS

This is like the red wedding for ESPN today. Some how Jemel Hill, and Stephen A Smith are still employed but guys with intimate knowledge of sports like Dilfer, and Kanell are gone.

How long until they give Lavar Ball his own show?

natural consequence with the lessening interest in cable television
you can get espn (three channels) with slingtv for $20, that's going to cut into revenue
soon we'll see espn 2 and 3 going away

I still watch live sports occasionally on ESPN, but not much else. They apparently overpaid for the broadcasting rights for some of their programming.

Jemel hill is insufferable. Unwatchable. So is SAS. Espn has been going in a downward spiral for a decade now. I'm just glad NFLN is going to be the final nail in that coffin.

About a dozen stations in my cable package and not once views. Wait, do they still do Poker? I might watch them for some poker, but that there is about as sporting as NASCAR.

The only show I seek out to watch/listen to was the Russillo & Kanell show (formerly SVP & Russillo) and apparently that's gone. that was the only show that dug into stories and didn't spend half its show race baiting or talking about Lavar Ball and irrelevant garbage like that.

ESPN used to be the only game in town (pun intended). Now there are several other sports networks like Fox and they are losing the ratings and sports casters. Not to mention the financial trouble. Been going on for a while now.

I think they shouldn't have TV and radio under the same bubble. The TV shows they have are awful, the radio is the only watchable (they put them on TV) thing.

Half the time those two guys aren't even on the show anymore it's Johnny fill in and Steve know nothing.

I cant stand that show. Greeny is always ho taking the s out of the most popular topic and turning it in to the greatest thing that's ever happened in sports. Golic is fine though.

i like to watch the games, not the shows
listening to mike and mike while driving is ok, so long as they're talking about actual sports and not sports drama, wonder if colin cowherd gets axed, that guy is terrible

They both are trying to fill the 20 minute gap by droning on about nonsense sometimes.

Jets fans are incredibly loyal. I have a few of them as friends. It's fun to make jokes about how bad the Jets are. last year was great :grin

Cowherd has been gone a while. He's on fox. I actually like cowherd, because he states his opinion and doesn't really care what you think

Don't like LeBetard but the show is entertaining. Mike and Mike are ok with Kannel and Rusillo being a tad better.

I wouldn't mind that if his opinions weren't so terrible.

Florida insider report, Flats Class, Addictive Fishing and other sports are not on ESPN. So I don't watch it.

Would have agreed until World Series 2016 when Mike Golic (Cleveland native) dared to wear an Indians shirt with Chief Wahoo displayed. Two days of discussion, lots of crying and whining, never again wore the shirt. Political correctness ad nasum. Haven't watched them much since. MLB Network has better MLB coverage anyway'.

They've been on the decline since the corporate demon mouse took over. The core talent has already left with the exception of Bayless. That guy needs a brick to the side of his head...

I liked Dilfer, good announcer and horrible QB who understood the game and could communicate that to the audience.

    Tom Jackson retired, big loss.

You talking about Skip Baylis? He has long gone to Fox. Probably the only guy I can't watch at all.

Yup. When he left ESPN I had a brief feeling that they may have some common sense. Fox's decision to pick him up left me scratching my head. As for personalities I am not a fan of Cowherd or LeBetard but at least they make intelligent comments for the most part. I make it a point to put on LeBetard in my travels because they don't take themselves seriously and have an awkward approach. Reminds me of Bubba on the radio. He's a D'Bag but his people and format are great.
