A beautiful foggy morning lead us to a productive day. We fished all morning through lunch and ended up catching around 30 quality-sized largemouth bass. No striped/sunshines, but we certainly got our share of large bass. These weren't schoolies... We got a bunch and lost some whoppers. I also got one nice catfish. All the fish were caught using lures and they were eating aggressively. The action slowed for a bit but we moved and found some action again. Not many days like that one for sure..... I have fished in the area since the mid 80s and I can say that the lake seemed healthier than I expected. The presence of bait, the quality of fish, and the beauty of the St Johns River. The largest fish was a bit over 8 lbs. Some fishing in the area has seemed to slow-down, but then you have a day like this one....

Never seem more learned than the people you are with. Wear your learning like a pocket watch and keep it hidden. Do not pull it out to count the hours, but give the time when you are asked. --- Lord Chesterfield
The whole St Johns is pretty hot right now. Find Clear water and current. Wind has been picking up at 10am and pushing bait into pad fields and cover. We've been picking en up as late a 2PM when I had to get off the water. Nice ones in the 3-4Lbs. Had two MONSTERS hang me up and I couldn't get em out of the pads despite a 7'6" pool cue and 65# braid. I mean 8#++. Water is low and it is concentrating the fish. Mullett Lake has about 1ft of water at the entrance and my boat won't float that shallow..his can
So don't get hung up on a location...clearer water (not muddied by Jessup) and wind/current against a bank and you'll find fish.
