Catch shares coming to the south Atlantic?

Several commercial fishing interests are trying to sneak in a catch shares type program in the South Atlantic.If this happens,say hello to rich commercial guys hiring lobbyists to get politicians steal recreational allotments and push smaller mom and pop commercial operators out of business like in the Gulf and everywhere else they have been tried.

My opinions on the subject are fairly simple:

Any changes to catch limits needs to be based on well vetted scientific data that has been publicly reviewed.

Any changes to catch limits should impact the percentage of commercial limits in the same amount & direction that it affects the percentage of recreational limits.

I do not support any scheme that assigns catch allotments to specific persons, companies, corporations, trusts, partnerships, co-operative groups, or other specific entities.

please go to the Council For Sustainable Fishing's facebook or webpage to keep track of what is planned by the SAFMA.......The CFSF are folks that go to bat for both the recs. and the comm. fishermen..
