I wanted to fish one last time in my current kayak before trading it in so I decided to go back to the Eddie Creek ramp where I had some success a couple weeks ago. It was windy when I launched around 7am and howling by the time I got off the water at 1pm. While it wasn't ideal conditions for boating, it was a good day of fishing. I landed 2 trout and 4 redfish with the best two being 26" and 27.5". Not monsters but still great fish to catch, especially if you want one for the cooler.
The 26" fish was caught at 10:45 am and the bigger one at 11:45 am. While these weren't the first fish of the day, I can't count the number of times I didn't catch a fish before 10 or 11 am. For me, being persistent is what I find most useful on the water. That, and having confidence in the bait I'm using. Below is the video of the 2 bigger redfish.
