FPI (1) PHIN long day 1-31-2017 3 generations!

Had another opportunity to get my dad and granddad offshore. Saw that the Whites Tackle report kept saying 150-200ft of water and a good forecast so we went for it.

Lines in the water at about 8:30 in 150ft. Trolled 150-200ft mostly. No bites so we came in shallower, found a (small) weed / foam line in 115ft trolled it south for quite a while into about 85ft, saw plenty of life, but no bites. Turtles, Remora, etc..

Was giving up, went back out to 150ft trolled to 225ft turned around, and decided we were going to go back to 100ft and reel em in for the day and then...

@ 2pm ish In 150ft the line on the down planner went off. :fishing Dolphin had another one with him... but by the time his buddy saw the boat the 2nd one disappeared. Kept the fish in the water, the other fish never came back. Wrapped it up and headed in. Wasn't very big, but still not skunked for a long day...

Line spread was, 3 ballyhoo with islander skirts (pink / white) (Blue / White) (Green / Blue) and a squid chain.

Bite was on the (blue / White) illand seastar.

Inside 200 ft seas were very calm 0-2ft. Outside 200ft there were some very big rollies 4-8ft.

Water color wasn't great kinda cloudy.
